Saturdays - Open 2nd and 4th Saturdays

The center is closed on all county government holidays.

What to Know

  • When entering the Recycling Center from Graham Road, stay to the right and drive to the North Side of the building. Please follow the signs.
  • Once you have arrived at the drop-off bay door, please wait for an attendant to guide you into the entrance.
  • IMPORTANT: Once you have pulled into the center, please turn off your engine and stay inside your vehicle. This is for your safety and our security.
  • Please make certain your items for recycling are loose, clean and dry.
  • Glass and corrugated cardboard need to be separated from the rest of your items for recycling.
  • We accept many electronic items. But we do not accept televisions or computer monitors.
  • Johnson County residents can drop off Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) without an appointment. This service is only for residents and not businesses or SQGs.
  • The amount of HHW is limited to a trunk load at the resident's address per month. Other restrictions may apply.

Edinburgh-RecyclingWhat to Know

  • Keep recyclables loose, separate, empty and clean.
  • Use separate containers - paper, cardboard (small quantities,) plastic bottles, tubs, jugs and metal food cans must be kept apart.
  • Be prepared for the attendant to possibly inspect items. We search for contamination.
  • Please do not include plastic bags of any kind. We appreciate you keeping them out of the bins. 
  • Glass, large quantities of cardboard and electronics are not accepted at the Edinburgh Recycling Depot. Please see the Franklin Recycling Center for options.
